It's been far too long...
This is what F has been doing:
a bit more writing letters and words and then that stopped. I am now very used to these phases of development and have learned not to push or panic, so that's fine. When she's interested again she'll do more. She is still touching on it fairly frequently but past the first flurry of enthusiasm and excitement.
a phase of lots of drawing and painting and making: a Backyardigans book full of pictures telling the story of one of the episodes, about 20 pages long; some floor mats at my mum's house, for some reason, she decorated them with big spirally squiggles and then distributed them mainly in the doorways; various other pictures and objects; in one of her pictures, she included Dozy Mog, for the first time looking quite like himself, and she started looking a bit more at the person she is drawing, to see what their hair is like etc.
and all the usuals: conversations about all sorts; XBox Wallace and Gromit game; Leapster; bouncing on sofas; playing imaginative games of various sorts.
We went to my mum's (Grandma Joy) and had a good weekend there, though I was in the throes of a huge piece of work, now completed. F had a lovely time, painting with proper grown-up paints and generally enjoying her time with her grandma.
On our way back (well, past our way back), we went to MonsterTeeny and saw the Raines there, which was great, but F was very very tired (built up a sleep deficit from the weekend away) and didn't really mix much. Still it was nice to do the blogbumpery thang.
Am gradually reestablishing a 2-week rolling plan for things like visits to and from various people, but it's not happening very fast. Have been working a lot, January has been huge with work, which is good, but hoping for a slightly quieter February so that I can get some other things sorted.
That's it for now.
