Some things:

- today we met up with some of the FFFs and a few MMs at the beach at a playground - had mostly a lovely time although F got progressively trickier as the day went on. We all went down to sea to paddle and she wanted me just to leave her at the edge with the dangerous currents and shelving and all that and got very cross with me generally for being too close to her. Of course, this was interspersed with wanting me to be really close to her - sit next to her on bus, etc. Tricky and confusing. Highlights were singing songs to move L to tears under the climbing frame (adults hiding from rain), seeing F take the first steps (pedals) towards riding a bike with lovely C helping her back at E's and generally being with good mates who aren't terribly fazed by screeching! The water jets in the playground were on, plus rain, paddling and a couple of toilet accidents meant that between us all we worked our way through vast numbers of kids' trousers, passing on spares, trying to dry the clean wet and bag up the dirty wet, etc.
- F's reading continues to get better and faster - have found some pony books that I think she might manage to read soon and she's been reading some of those Oxford Reading Tree ones.
- F found the Animal Crossing Movie on YouTube in Japanese and watched it, trying to read odd bits of subtitle and most indignant at Margie being called Sally. Generally, the game has really been a great motivation for reading and writing. The other day we played together and her character visited my town, then proceeded to act out the most recent Dr. Who episode in another character's living-room. It was hilarious. My character was mainly confined to the sofa but brought in to do some chasing and we were saying 'Hey! Who turned out the lights!' as the characters ran around the room. One of the room ornaments was acting as a service node and F typed the message 'Donnoble has been sate' (Donna Noble has been saved). We were giggling for ages over it. The sheer imagination of F visualizing it was fab.
- We looked at lots of different languages (context was the copyright warnings on a DVD) and talked about them.
- I took some time off from pre-holiday workmania to sit on the sofa with F and watch a film, with lots of snackage. It was lovely.

Can't remember what else, I have been doing tons of work, have a deadline on the day we leave for holiday, so working up to the line.
