Jack popped over on Sunday, went to MMs on Monday, MT visit Tuesday - finally resuming real life again and it's good.
Nice to see Jack, he's on an up again which is always good, has some paid work and generally OK despite a few worries hanging on him. We gave him the tour of the new house and then we all came back and had a Chinese takeaway and watched The IT Crowd.
He then came again on Wednesday night to sleep over as he was working in Lewes.
MMs - after the summer (well 3 weeks anyway) of stress when poor F hadn't had as much of my attention and time as I would have wanted, due to the whole mortgage app. stress thing which was just a huge cloud for so long, it was great to go out with not a care in the world, get a bus over to MMs and spend time there. F and I chatted happily on the bus and when we got there she actually partook of the craft activity on offer - potato printing (potatoes cut using Allie's new method). She made a cool picture painting with the spuds, her fingers, brushes and seemed to really get into it for a while. Then she spent the rest of the time playing almost non-stop with M and they seemed to get on really well too.
I was able to chat to other adults for most of the time as she didn't need me at all!
Visit from MT - felt like such a long time since we had met up and it did me good. There were times when the children got across each other and us but we still managed some chatting time. D made a great crazy-golf hole on the patio (one of F's recent activities) and S played with Happy Land and they all watched some Shaun the Sheep. We had a visit over to the new house too, joined by Delilah (Take note Liza, I am risking using Delilah's real name!) the neighbour's cat.
Mrs MT told me about some potential major lifestyle changes they are considering, which was very interesting and kind of inspiring, though we are currently in an entirely different place, but it's always good to have those conversations that focus on a bigger picture.
Other than that, a lot of meeting with Structural Engineers and builders to discuss work planned on the house, which looks do-able so that's good. We want to have a wall taken out between living-room and hall, to maximize living space.
F has done quite a bit of drawing/making books as usual, her urge to learn to read has waned again a bit, it comes in phases, and she is playing The Sims 2 on the XBox a lot. Her house design has improved a lot since last time (could be over a year ago, not sure) but she still has a long way to go in managing the poor people.
Not sure what else, the week has flown by, will add anything I think of later as I have nearly lost this post once already.
