Today I did paid work in the morning, whilst F played Viva Pinata, read a bit of various reference books, watched some CBBC and did some puzzles in an Eyewitness DK book. She has a couple now - Medieval Life and Prehistoric Life - and seems to quite like them. When I finished work, she and I looked at the Prehistoric Life one a bit and did the puzzles on Tools and Weapons.
Then we played Viva Pinata, attempting to get a Roario, and possibly a Badgesicle, didn't get very far and seem to have a lot of thistles in the garden. After that we played a board game of her choice - she chose this Carol Vordermann 'Fractions and Decimals' one that we have - hmm this is all sounding very educational! However, Dozy Mog and a soft toy baboon did play too and that involved a lot of chat between them, so not exactly strait-laced or curricular. F has a good start on fractions and just picking up decimals, but not always 'with it' about them and can calculate herself in a circle and end up thinking the answer was a question - this could be down to the baboon factor though, it does get confusing.
F was very helpful with various things and it was a nice day.

ooh, we have those 2 DK books too, and SB really likes them.
They seem pretty good - quite attractive with good pictures and enough variety in the puzzles to make them quite satisfying.
