June then apparently!
Days have gone to (in very random order):
Friends visiting on their way around the country in their campervan, having already been round some parts of Europe - this is their blog - so good to catch up and their kids have grown up so much since we last saw them, was lovely for Freya to see A and we all had a great afternoon together despite drizzly weather. Really enjoyed the visit
A Saturday swim for Freya with friends
Hearing that Freya passed her LAMDA exam with a Merit, hooray!
Me going to Nigel's play "Cruising" with Allie Greenhouse, a Saturday treat!
Little Green Pig (creative writing group), Forest School, Friday Club (book club on theme of autobiography - Helen Keller, Anne Frank, Judith Kerr, difference between autobiography and biography, detailed analysis of some extracts from other bios and autobios - talking circle and drumming - I was there at just the right time to get invited to join in the drumming and absolutely loved it)
I arranged a meet-up at Pells Pool after Book Club and I think everyone came in the end, it was the hottest day of the year so far, think the girls had a fantastic time in the water, and adults enjoyed various chats in sunshine and shade.
S organized another trip to the National Gallery, much like our previous one (11th May 2012). Again the same man took us around to 3 paintings and explored them in detail, asking questions to get everyone thinking about why various things are included in the pictures, what they mean, etc. Very good, he has so much knowledge and a good approach. Freya wrote 'Diary of Star Seagull' in a notebook on the train and filled a few pages over the day.
Freya had a good Guides' session where they went for a walk and talked about survival skills including edible plants, what to have with you just in case, and first aid stuff. She is really enjoying Guides.
Starting to plan Freya's birthday stuff (arrgh finding dates that work for maximum number of her friends very hard)
A Saturday at the local Extravaganza (stalls, obligatory hog roast, cake, tea, stuff), mainly in the escort role for Freya really - altogether too much 'selling things' stalls and not enough 'doing things' ones
Bought Freya a glockenspiel and she has so far really enjoyed learning tunes on it
Having a Wednesday morning cuppity with Nigel and lots of laughs and chat
Watching the Apprentice with Freya, laughing at the foolishness
J being off work ill
My work - June is OK so far
Conversations with Freya about whether one should/would forgive Hitler and something else really interesting I've forgotten. Bother.
1 whole day at home, and a grand total of 30 minutes on my own at home in the last 2 weeks! Been that sort of time, brain aches from it.
Freya getting the new Animal Crossing today and starting it.
Sorry for brevity, busy hectic time!
