Back to normal stuff

Since last Friday days have gone to:
a more normal week, after illness, festival and half term - Fencing, Forest School, Dance, Art and Friday Club were all back on for Freya
In Art, Freya is doing some perspective work, having just completed a painting of a church.
At Book Club, we looked at extracts from the Percy Jackson books - did a Greek alphabet reading activity and a blue food memory game - had a brief look at Maya Angelou and I read to them for 25 minutes from the new Julian Chapter of Wonder, including the Grandmother's Tale set in wartime France.
Guides wasn't on but there was a meeting about upcoming camp - it was disappointing last year that Freya wasn't allowed to go on the camping weekend, but this year she can go, so it's all systems go with obtaining some items for kit. Am quite bemused that Guide leader refers to a man who comes to do all the heavy lifting and chopping wood! And her admission that she can't read a map! But think it will be fun anyway.
Freya did a timed Maths GCSE paper to see where she is with it, and got 57%, which was good! Especially considering we haven't covered quite a bit of it yet - some aspects of working with fractions, algebra and squares and roots. She is also ongoingly doing regular English, Geography, History, ICT and Science work, plus French on Duolingo.
Her LAMDA exam certificate and report came, she got 73 out of 100, a Merit.
I did lots of work again, keep saying 'yes' and more work keeps coming, sometimes too much, like today when I had preparing for Book Club too, so am now knackered. I seem to be me meeting my deadlines pretty well lately, which feels good.
We watched lots more Frasier, a Bridget Jones film, some Cosmos and Freya and I watched the Big Brother launch show.
