Think Freya did a Physics paper, which went OK. And I worked on more posters for her, and also started preparing for upcoming Script/Drama session. Grey and gloomy weather but a fairly restful day at home, I had had a good night's sleep, and had a bath and did roast potatoes. Also coleslaw made with celeriac, nice.
Monday April 27th
Freya had Geography and we did a bit of shopping, mainly books I think. I met A for a cuppa and he accompanied me round some charity and antique shops on a mission to find steampunk items. Which went quite well, only bought a 49p bracelet but eyed up lots of things for later. Came home with Freya and went out again for her to do Aerial later. Watched some old Big Bang Theory I think.
Tuesday April 28th
Had my Script and Drama session including audio recording some initial interviews of village characters. Good fun session focusing on differences between visual and audio performance/experiences, so some games and exercises using sound or no sound, etc. Then Freya had maths so I did a bit more steampunk questing, with some success.
Was oddly knackered that night so went to bed really early.
Wednesday April 29th
Forest School was cancelled, which gave us a day at home. Freya did some homework and we watched more old Big Bang Theory. I had a bath but the hot water wasn't very plentiful, so that wasn't quite what I was hoping for.
Thursday April 30th
Freya went up to English and came back, had lunch and then went up to Dance. I had some paperwork stuff to do so did that and then a bit more steampunk gathering, then had a cuppa and chat with M's mum C, which was nice, good to stop and have time to talk.
Then picked Freya up for Guides and did usual Thursday evening stuff.
Friday May 1st
Freya had a welcome lift to Friday Club. I had stuff to do, can't even remember what. Then I walked in and met her to come home.
At home we steampunked our hats whilst watching more old Big Bang Theory. There are worse ways to spend a Friday afternoon!
Curry in the evening and watched some of the Bear Grylls Island thing.
Saturday May 2nd
Parade day in Brighton, more pictures here and here if you haven't already seen them. It felt very special this year, think the theme (Brighton Festival Children's Parade theme: Taking Flight, our section did a steampunk interpretation with a dirigible!) really worked for people to come up with something individual that worked brilliantly when we all came together. The atmosphere was incredible, really glad we took part.
Afterwards we had a toasted teacake and a drink in a cafe, then headed home.
I had a bath and cooked burgers, chips and stir-fry veg, then we watched the third of the Hobbit films, which was mostly too fighting-focused to be very enjoyable, I kept daydreaming in the boring fighty bits. Loved the second one but maybe they went one film too far with it.
Sunday May 3rd
Freya did 2 half-length practice papers - one Physics one was very hard, and she felt she hadn't done well, but when I checked the grade boundaries, it was just a very hard paper and she had done better than it seemed at first.
Then she went swimming, I sat in the sofa area and did a bit more revision resource preparation work.
Today we're going for a walk with J's mum in a while.

Sounds fabulous, love the steam punk dirigibles :)
Hard papers are a difficult thing not to feel blah about, so fab for online grade thresholds to cheer you up!
Keep going a and f! You can do it. :)
