Some recent things I forgot to blog in my catch-up:
F made a 'calendar' (by her definition) - 2 pages stuck together, on one she had drawn a picture of Princess Leia and on the other a picture of R2D2, both with their names written below - Princess Leia was copied and R2D2 all her own work apart from the R, which she needed to copy and looked at with some interest, observing that it looked like a person sticking her leg out. She also walked to the local shop in the character of R2D2 (she hasn't got wheels so she just did shuffle steps) and coaxed me into attempting some C3PO impersonations - I got the arm gestures and some of the walk right, which was quite fun, walking through the park, but when I try to do the voice it turns into K9. Nice to have a challenge for future self-improvement, though, eh? So yes, there has been a lot of Star Wars viewing... and more to come as we are going to watch the later/first 3 at some point soon too.
On Saturday early evening, while I was blogging and at the beginning of Strictly Dance Fever, F did some copying writing - starting a story that was apparently part of a television series that she has invented, in which 2 butterflies go out in each episode and find something different each time and bring it back to a parrot. She got some paper and did drawings of the butterflies and parrot on one side, then started writing on the other - she came up with a blank piece of paper for me to write the words she wanted and then took it away and copied it. She got as far as 'Once upon a time there was a park and there was a butterfly' before succumbing to exhaustion and needing her tea.
Sunday was very leisurely for me, involving a long lie-in and a read in bed with a cuppa brought up for me, and a long soak later too. F pootled in the garden a bit, mainly with J and watched quite a bit of telly in the afternoon, ending with the Dr Who repeat.
Just before bedtime she played sonic screwdriver with a spinning LED light thing that we bought at last year's firework night. She slept right through the night, wearing 'big-girl pants' for the first time at night, and we woke up at half eightish to hear her using the toilet!
Other things we have been up to:
- playing with the balloon from Buzz's party in the living-room
- playing a game where we had to pass a pen to each other using our feet (she surprised me by very successfully using her 'difficult' foot).
- watching Look and Read or some other such programme on BBC2 in the morning that had the 'Magic E' song in it, and a little rhyme about how when 2 vowels go out together walking, it's the first that does the talking in words like coat, goat, etc.
Also this morning she has done some more writing - She got me to write on 3 pieces of paper: 'from F to [blank] I hope you are having a lovely day in this horrible weather'. Then she filled in the blanks with different names and put stamps (stickers) on the letters and delivered them all around the house.
I have some work to do for Wednesday and would like to have a declutter this week too, not sure if I will get that far.
