We've got two kittens! Photos are here.
We got them yesterday (F and I having 'viewed' them a couple of weeks ago). Lovely local home-ed mate C gave me a lift to go and get them as they were over the other side of Sussex and nearly in the wilds of Surrey in fact. We had a bit of an adventure as first there were flooded roads in that area, then a critical road closure, later a red dashboard warning light and, to top the excitement, finally a proper breakdown and AA recovery on the A23. Am still giggling about all the things C was able to cite under 'special circumstances' that would put us at the top of the list for rapid response: 8 mths pregnant driver, ill passenger, young child and 2 very young kittens! Sensibly the AA man arrived in 10 minutes and was great. Thanks so much C, if you're reading.

The kittens were very quiet and calm in C's car, but rather critical of the AA truck environment, with tiny but relentless miaows to express their disapproval. The AA truck dropped me off at the top of the hill and I walked down the last 5 minutes, which they seemed happier with. F and J were delighted to see us all and the kittens were soon out exploring. They seem to be settling remarkably easily. They're ridiculously gorgeous and cute. The dark one is a boy and the silver tabby is a girl. They spent most of the night in F's room, woke her up once but then settled down OK.

F is getting over this virus, coughing and stuffynosed but not so bad in herself. I came down with it on Friday so am hoping for a day of not having to go out or do anything much tomorrow.
We've been to Peter Pan in Hastings - really good show, less 'cheesy panto' and more 'musical theatre' - very professional and fantastic lighting/effects/projections that really made it magical. It was a huge effort to get there and back though, as we were all feeling quite rough. We had Italian food afterwards, which was lovely. Fierce wind and rain that day, not nice to be walking in and coughing.

Other than that, not much, F playing LittleBigPlanet a bit, we played some Animal Crossing and we watched The Pregnant Man, as she'd specifically asked me to record it. She didn't have any 'difficult' questions about it, other than 'why are those people angry and shouty about it?'. I have some other stuff lined up to offer to/share with her when we're well again.
Am going to open a bottle of ginger wine now, perfect for coughs and colds and Christmas.
Am stuck and can't buy any more presents until I get paid now. However the later I get paid the more the money will be worth, as I get paid in euros (by French agencies).
