Do all religions have a heaven and hell? (no... gave some examples)
How can people mortgage houses several times over? What would happen to our mortgage if we moved? (didn't do very well at explaining this I think)
How did the Father Christmas story get involved with the Jesus story? (went into various historical aspects of the festival)
How do the kittens know that our human food is food? (smell? - it is kind of odd how omnivorous they are, especially Rorschach - they really go for a lot of our vegan food).
We also talked about the depth and speed of the local stream (flowing high at the moment, lovely and noisy), what an electricity substation is (didn't get very far with that one actually, but will come back to it) and what the ingredients of pickle are.
Today we had snow. We were meant to be taking kittens to vet for follow-up jabs, but no taxis were running, so we took them out of their carrier 10 minutes after putting them in - gave them something to think about, eh?
Then we went out and did snowballs in the park and went for a short walk up the hill to see the view. It was so beautiful out there today. F loved it. Pictures are here. Back home after an hour or so, hot chocolate and a leisurely day after that.
F has been: making more LittleBigPlanet levels - not sure she keeps many, but her current one has a princess who is sad because the Queen commanded everyone to say she was beautiful (no analysis please!). LBP is so great for creativity, so easy to stick things here and there and add all sorts of stuff. She does get a lot out of that.
J managed to order F's new bed (again - 3rd or 4th time lucky we hope - different model, so should go OK this time).
Other than that, we've been watching Freaky Friday (both versions) and F has been reading Princess Mirror-Belle books in bed. Really want to find some other books that she enjoys as much as those. And she has replied to A's most recent e-mail at last - dictated, not typed this time as she was tired!

dictated is good! A's getting quite good at dictation now and gets annoyed if I try and help her by adding other words! Forming what they have to say is just as important as the actual writing it, if that would then get in the way. Well that's what I tell myself. the e-mail arrived and I shall tell A about it later, unless she checks herself as she's getting good at that now too!
After commenting about the lack of questions A has come out with some stuff lately. Why do women sometimes have bigger bums than men? lolol!! So told her about needing bigger hips for babies etc and we had a how did the world began and how did the first people get on it q. the other day too. Have promised to show her the David Attenborough program that was on the other night.

LBP does sound so good. Wish we had a PS3 to try it but it's a bit of a big purchase to justify!
Kirsty - that's such a good point about there being a separate skill of 'forming' the content. Hadn't quite thought of it like that recently, but it's true.
Oh cool questions from A, funny how something like big bums can lead to so much other stuff.
LBP is great but, as you say, bit of a huge outlay.
