OK, quick catch-uppery.

Things we've done:
F fed the birds in the snow as they were out in our garden carking disconsolately
F made a film - I was given the part of 'wicked old hag' (stop smirking) and the kittens played wolves
F read to us - a chapter of Princess MirrorBelle to J one night - he was really impressed at how her reading had improved a lot since the previous time she'd done that - and a story in her Dr Who magazine to me one morning.
F watched lots of The Secret Show and she and I watched lots of films including Freaky Friday and The Parent Trap (both versions of each)
F and I went to the park at sunset to watch the sun go down, the sky change and the moon and stars come out - very chilly!
We all played lots of Professor Layton's Curious Village - puzzles galore!
F and I went to local home-ed group for second time and had a lovely time - group seems pretty well established already with a core of families turning up regularly so far, plus a few others who may be less frequent - we have plans to use another room in the building for drama, etc.
We talked about calories and energy (prompted by questions about the term 'diet' on drinks can) and different materials (which grow or occur naturally, which are made or processed, how they are made or processed or obtained - wood, metal, plastic, glass, brick, stone)
F put together a little area of kitten toys, calling it a 'nursery', including toy mice, balls, decorative catnip item, lego train with pony on
F Googled for cat toys and we ordered a few things she found, she also adapts them when we get them - took a part of the clockwork mouse so that it goes faster now, plus stuck an extra elastic-tailed mouse on to another toy
J and F played 'Flower' by Sony on the PS3 - very pretty and charming
F and I made paper planes following a pattern on the Internet together
F and I went to Drusilla's and walked up to Berwick station instead of getting bus back (I had forgotten my phone or would have rung for taxi) - got home rather late - it's annoying how Drusilla's closes at 5 but the bus isn't till 6, so there's nowhere to wait around for it - I did check the wine place, imagining a prolonged 'tasting' session might be good, but it had also closed early!
We've all been watching 'Life on Earth' - J bought the whole set, with Living Planet and Trials of Life too - F has taken in a lot of it so far - she made a book at group the day after watching the first episode, with lots of pictures, then she was showing me and talking me through it and she'd remembered so many details and proper names of things and what they did
And last but not least - went up to hospital on appointment for F to have metal plate removed from arm under general anaesthetic, waited four hours with increasingly hungry child who had had to have breakfast at silly hour, then it was cancelled and reappointed for this week! Nobody's fault - emergency admission - but bloody hard day and now J will lose more time off for it. Will be so glad when it's over and done with, we went through all the stress and then nothing happened.
