F has been exploring Aesop's Fables and some Hans Christian Andersen tales, which started when we watched the (Barbiephobes do not read) Barbie Thumbelina DVD and J and I commented on how it was absolutely nothing to do with the 'original' Thumbelina. J found it on the Internet and printed it out, read it with F and she read it later too. She really likes the Fables and has been reading a lot of them, then telling them back to me when we've been out for walks.
She has also been doing more complex drawings, again often maps, or maplike, structural things. One today was of a solar system with some planets being a bit like the ones in our solar system and others being pure invention. She told me some details about each bit, there was a lot to it.
F has been asking questions like 'Do Gods have Gods?' and 'If you went into space and looked back at Earth, would you be able to see if Gaia is real or not?' (Gaia was a central theme in the Ice Circus thing we went to a few weeks back).
We have done a lot of local walks, mainly by the stream, making the most of it before it disappears (only flows for a few months a year). Today when we went down F actually dipped her toes and fingers in and we tasted it too.
Last week seemed almost entirely made up of appointments at hospital, vet, dentist, plus a lot of work for me. F was very good throughout and we were able to escape at last on Friday when we went and met up with some friends at soft play and then went back to MonsterTeeny Towers for a cuppa and a play. F has been signed off now from hospital so the broken arm saga is almost over - she's allowed back on trampoline again in about 4 weeks time. That will be a relief.
Not sure what else we've been up to and I have a cat draped over my arm so it's getting hard to type.
