May

In May, F and I went to:

the fair in Brighton - to joke about the very unscary ghost train and for F to do lots of bouncing on inflatables, trampolines and bungies, finishing up with a ride for both of us on the tiny mini-rollercoaster

the theatre to see La La Luna, which we both really enjoyed - excellent physical theatre 
a science museum on tour show as part of the Brighton Festival, on forces - quite good but a bit loud and 'shouty for the kids cos they love that don't they?!' - good experiments and demos but rubbish linking and presentation

an interactive CBBC studio tour with some other home-ed families - really good fun, just wish I was better at taking photos as F posed by 'the tardis' and on a backdrop with a giant Matt Smith, among other things - she really enjoyed (and volunteered for) doing voiceovers and sound cues - was lovely to see her confidence in her reading ability and generally - we also got to play 'Raven' some people did a bit of weather presenting and we ended up with 2 kids being Diddy Dick and Dom, was interesting to see how they do that - on the way we also visited a red Green Room and an Observation Gallery above one of the main studios set up for a new series of Shooting Stars

I also went on a 4-day writing holiday, organized by an old friend. A group of 8 of us shared a castle in Dorset and did writing and eating and chatting and writing and drinking and writing. It was total bliss!

In the latter half of May we were all ill, off and on for about 2 weeks, how rubbish that was. 

One day in May, F spotted a circumzenithal arc - an upside-down rainbow with no rain - and J managed to get a photo of it.

And we bumped into an old friend one day in Brighton and went for a meal with him, was so nice.
