Tuesday July 16th
Helped Freya to thread up her sewing machine (birthday prezzie from me, mini colour block from John Lewis - pink) and she had a few practice runs just trying it out. It proved nicely easy to use. You can't change the speed but it's nice and steady, so feels very stable and controlled, despite extreme pinkness.
Wednesday July 17th
Freya had what might be the last Forest School she will go to, so she spent a lot of the time constructing intricate 'tributes' - items representing her friends' names to be left there in their honour - involved a bit of sawing and drilling I think.
After that I met her and some friends up at Pells Pool and was able to actually go in the pool myself (finally - long story involving different swimsuits and eczema), which was bliss.
Thursday July 18th
J, Freya and I had a lovely day in Brighton.
We went on the Brighton Wheel, had chips and mushy peas, took the Volks
railway to the Marina, saw Despicable Me 2 in 3D and looked at the sand
sculptures near there, then Volks back again. A really lovely happy day
out.
Friday July 19th
Another good day out, this time with J's mum
too, to West Wittering, a beach in Sussex that has Actual Sand, not the sub-shingly stuff, but goldy yellow proper sand, in both
dry and wet forms. Bumped into M from MMs and such there! Bizarre small
world. We all had a swim in the sea, which was blissful. Freya did lots
of going under, she has really got used to that very quickly, having
never ducked her head under at all until a couple of weeks ago! I love
to be in the sea, came away feelng very happy and restored to 'me'
somehow.
Saturday 20th
Think I was mainly working.
Sunday 21st
Went
in our pool with J and Freya, more bliss! Though pool needs a bit more
filtration power than it gets, there's a bit of build-up of stuff, but
nothing too off-putting. These pics are from the week before when it was clearer though.
Monday 22nd
Much like the day before, went in pool again. Also Freya had another go with her sewing machine.
Tuesday 23rd
Original plan was beach with 2 other families but an injury and weather forecast intervened, and we had a lovely day up at C's house, lots of chatting for the 3 mums, and enjoyable afternoon for all the children.
Today
Today L came to play and they did a bit of sewing, origami, table tennis, Sylvanians and other stuff. I got a bit of work done and pottered mainly.
