Just a brief one. At my mum's: F watched Alice in Wonderland (a good version with live actors in) quite a number of times, making comparisons with the Disney version which is one of her favourite films; she did some painting on canvas with proper acrylic paints, very much enjoying the effects possible with those - scraping across, adding paint layers on top of dry layers, mixing colours on canvas while wet, using fingers, hands, palette knife; she played outside with the car - she won't fit in it much longer - and slide, made 'soup' for the birds and enjoyed some time in the greenhouse; she did acrobatic bed-jumping and had a few spectacular falls; she made jam tarts and thoroughly enjoyed lots of time with her grandma.
I got a good amount of work done - this job is not too tricky, just large. It was hard not having friends to chat to online and play games with while working, I missed my main message board hugely, although it was really nice to come back to a warm welcome! It's so much like walking into your 'local' and finding your friends sitting there. Except you don't have to go out and you can open a decent bottle of wine for a quarter of the price.
On the way back, we had a wait at Ashford and F had a snack and drink and got out her felt pens and started drawing on a paper napkin. She drew a character she had seen on a Maths programme earlier and then astounded me by telling me that 1, 4 and 9 were square numbers. Then we opened out the napkin and found that the colour had gone through, so that her drawing had turned into a big symmetrical pattern, so I got a few more napkins to take with us on the train and we drew and coloured several 'butterflies' and then we discovered we could make them 'fly' by blowing them across the table to each other.
Back home we watched the last two episodes of season 1 of Dr Who and then after F went to bed J and I watched the new episode of LOST. Our remote control could really do with OMG and WTF buttons.
Today is rainy and is a home/telly/work/housework kind of day so far.
Shopping has arrived so just off to unpack.
Weekend - Saturday has drama and a party for F and adult evening guests for us too. Don't think anything is planned for Sunday.
