Yesterday we had a pottering morning. F was reading a bit, watching some things, we both did a bit of Wii Fit and played MySims: Party on the Wii too, whilst eating vast quantities of fruit. Then in the afternoon we headed up the hill to C's, where F had been invited to play with E, while I would be going off with K to plan a treasure hunt for Woodcraft next week. All of which went very well. E and F were happy to see each other and E had written a list of things they could do, which included Wii Fit, Snack, Dressing Up, Hama Beads, Watch DVD and several others. Not sure if they did all the things on the list but I know they did most of them.

K and I went off to wander around the local park taking pictures and clue-spotting. We managed to find quite a lot of things for the kids to spot, along with some questions for older children, hopefully coming up with a range of things to suit the age range that will be taking part.
We returned after an hour or so to find E and F playing very happily and F not wanting me to be back and definitely not wanting to go. They seem to be getting on really well. F definitely sees friends differently if they are 'her friends' as opposed to 'children of her mum's friends', so the distinction of seeing people without me or without their mum's is really significant to her.

We eventually left at about half five, with C kindly giving us a lift. Back home F stuck some photos in her Book of Secrets, replied to an e-mail from A and watched some Weakest Link clips on YouTube. She asked me to read her Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (she's been further investigating The Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen, books that J got for her, along with Aesop's Fables, a while ago), then she read Cinderella herself. She's intrigued at how different they are from the Disney versions, what with heels and toes being cut off and eyes pecked out, etc.
This morning she has read The Girl who Trod on The Loaf (another cheery tale, involving the Marshwoman's Brewery, the Devil's grandmother and various torments).
Also we've looked at a picture of a heart and she's read a comic and is now playing with some Ponyville things.
