Wallace and Gromit, Cinderella, Kaleidoscope, Cash-poor Property-rich Sims, Zoombinis, Wallace and Gromit again

Yesterday:
F started the day with Wallace & Gromit on the XBox and finished it with Wallace & Gromit on DVD. In between, she played with her Barbies, who are still acting out Cinderella with their wonder-prop, the light-up pumpkin, as if they were a struggling community theatre group that had applied for a lottery grant and received it but only for the authorized purchase of a single specified item that then had to be used in all performances. Bit limiting, but they do sound happy enough with F voicing them, and bring the odd variation to the story, as time goes on, as you would, maybe gradually bringing in satirical asides about grants bodies.
After the theatricals, F went on to decide to make a kaleidoscope and found herself a toilet-roll tube and a clear round plastic lid. She then cut some tiny pieces of card and coloured them different bright colours so that they could jiggle around inside it and look pretty. She came to me for sticking and for cutting out the eye-piece and project managed me fairly nicely and articulately.
She stuck a beaker outside to collect snow (optimist!) and had some passing interaction with an alien in a jar thing that we have and made up a song on the way up the stairs about looking out of the window and seeing different things at night than in the day.
We played The Sims 2 again, I had to leave her to it for some of the time, and she was very engaged in creating houses from scratch. Her first problem was that she made such a huge house she didn't have much money left after spending it on walls! And she spent what was left on 2 very nice little tables with 2 matching lamps on. But her people were desperate for a toilet, shower, fridge and bed. So we had a lot of interesting conversations there about the basics of life and also some maths in the building (shape, size, levels) and budgeting. Am tempted to get it on X-Box actually, so that she can play without having to use my laptop.
She then played Zoombinis for a bit, and seemed to get more into it and to understand more and be a bit more patient with it than before.
She has a cold and so was fading a bit by teatime, and watched the Were Rabbit again before bed.
Today has started with sleepy cuddles and in a minute we are off for a physiotherapy review in Brighton and to buy a few bits and pieces.
