Today was nice and Fridayish. In the morning, I finished some paid work whilst watching various 4OD and BBC i-Player catch-uppy things on laptop, then did a big kitchen clean and wash-up plus a few other chores, some washing, etc.

F played Harvest Moon in the morning - one of her new chickens was sick so we worked out what was needed to sort that. She then watched a Farscape episode that she watches a lot, played around with her music keyboard, recording some things, singing along, etc. Think she went out in the garden for a bit too and generally pootled about.

We had a friend of her's coming over at 4ish - this was the friend that F made at the Woodcraft Folk walk last Sunday - E. E had asked if she could come over for tea one day, so I had then arranged it with her parents. Lovely to see F making friends independently and they certainly seemed to bond during the walk, having spent 2 hours or so together, mostly away from parents.

E and her mum arrived on time - her mum was planning to come in for a cup of tea, then leave her, but then she realized that she had left E's insulin injection stuff at home, so she had to go back up the hill and come down again, by which time it made sense for her to stay after all, so she did. We all got on fine, the girls seemed to have a proper friendship - actually listening to each other and playing cooperatively the whole time. I always had a feeling F would start to make friends differently around the age of 8 - more talking involved, sharing of ideas, feelings, etc. and maybe this is part of that, slightly earlier, I don't know. But it's lovely to see - whatever else happens, however this particular friendship goes, I know that she can make friends by herself, chat to people, form bonds, etc.
J came home and also chatted with E's mum, C. E did her insulin injection and talked us through it and answered our questions. E's dad, D arrived to pick them up and take them home, so there was more adult chat while the girls ran into the garden and back and played for the last 20 minutes.
Now drinking wine and F has asked for early bedtime! And we're having some curry in a while. Got a very leisurely weekend planned as last one was quite busy.
