brave girl

F climbed higher than usual on the climbing frame at our local playground today, then did it again to show her beloved toy animal (let's call him/her Dozy Mog, as a blogonym, but he/she is also sometimes called Baby Wah-Wah, Bread Loaf and other names as and when F thinks of them, most recent of which is Lucy Sarah). Then she decided to climb both sides of each part of the climbing frame, take Dozy Mog from me at the top, and climb down carrying him. On the last of these endeavours she fell from near the top and cried. I hugged her and she calmed down and then she decided to have another go, rather than giving up. Things like that make me feel so much for her, that fiesty little person. And she used her right hand grip really well a few times, and I did some covert physio by just placing her thumb in a better position, holding and pulling her from the right a few times in other playground games.
She's got a bit of a sniffle and I think we're getting it too, feel a bit eye-achey, bit sleepy. Still it's been a nice day on the whole. F played some quite elaborate game in the garden, involving turning sticks into needles using a special machine that was actually a few bricks at the top of the patio steps. I didn't really participate but came out to her to watch and ask about it a few times.
The cherry blossom in the front garden is fully out now, and on days like today, I look out of our bedroom window to see beautiful pink blossom against a deep blue sky. Glorious. Unfortunately the tree cannot stay, it is troubling the foundations and the power lines. Our landlords will probably be cutting it down, so this is probably its last blossoming.
We finished off the cardboard laptop today with a few little touches, a touchpad, power switch, some green lights, silver buttons and logos. And she played quite a bit of Wallace and Gromit.
But the sniffle was making her a bit wobbly off and on.
And me - still no work! Yikes! Might have to get pro-active on Monday/Tuesday.
