Went over to Drusillas by bus. Bus was empty except for us and a woman with a toddler and a baby in a buggy who was dropped off right at her door in one of the villages - love those country buses now. Drusillas was far from empty. Definitely won't be going again in school holiday or weekend time. It meant there were queues to get in and queues for some of the play equipment, leading to stress and having to try and get F to realize that she needed to hurry (getting out of way of next person on slide thing for example) and her having a strop about me doing that. She's definitely finding ways to climb out of her spirals of stroppiness more though. She's getting there.

Apart from the fact that none of us like crowds, though, it was a lovely day. My favourites were the penguins, the lemurs in the new walk-through lemurland and my lentil and vegetable soup! Also the bus journeys - villages and backdrop of the Downs. F enjoyed the train ride, giraffe periscope, tray slide and lots of other things. She was thrilled for us all 3 to be there together today. On the way home in the bus, she leaned down sideways and rested her head on J. She looked so pleased that he was there.
It was a relief to leave though, because of the sheer number of people. Also, although bright and sunny, there was a north wind blowing all the time. My cheeks have got that feeling I associate with walking by the sea.
Back home we relaxed with the various electronic media of our choice, then J cooked noodles with tempeh, cashews and mushrooms (and chillies for some) and we watched some old Dr Who.
